Preputial stenosis:
- Stenosis is "an abnormal narrowing or contraction of a body passage or opening; and is sometimes called stricture."[1]
- Preputial stenosis is a narrowing of the prepuce. The term preputial stenosis usually refers to a narrow prepuce in young intact boys,[2] resulting in developmentally non-retractile foreskin, however, it is also applied to a post-circumcision condition in which the circumcision cicatrix forms distal to the glans penis and contracts holding the residual skin forward over the glans penis.[3]
The condition is caused by insufficient removal of the inner mucosal layer of the prepuce.[4]
