ACOG is a nonprofit organization of women's health care physicians advocating highest standards of practice, continuing member education and public awareness of women's health care issues. ACOG joined with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2008 to produce a circumcision policy statement that would protect third-party payment for medically-unnecessary, non-therapeutic circumcision.
