Rufus Wainwright (born 22 July 1973) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and composer.[1]
Wainwright appeared at the first Hope Rising concert, which was put on in May 2011 at Toronto's Sony Centre for the Performing Arts by the Stephen Lewis Foundation.[2] Other celebrities who have participated in the concert include K'naan, Angélique Kidjo, Holly Cole and Alicia Keys.[3] Artists who appeared in the 2012 concert in Toronto, November 7th, 2012 included Annie Lennox, Angélique Kidjo and Sarah McLachlan.[4]
