Wie Sie sehen, auch wir sind noch mitten im Corona-Betrieb. Ich melde mich gerade aus dem Home Office und trotzdem ist das Anliegen des Weltweiten Tags für Genitale Selbstbestimmung so wichtig, dass wir das eben auch mit unserem Videostatement hier gerne unterstützen mögen.

Wir arbeiten mit unseren Projekten, wir arbeiten mit unserer Einrichtung für Kinderrechte, für Menschenrechte, und zwar für universelle Menschenrechte und Kinderrechte. Unserer Meinung nach gehört das Recht auf genitale Selbstbestimmung genau dazu.

Zugegeben, bei uns im Verein hat die Auseinandersetzung um die genitale Selbstbestimmung erst Anfang des Jahres richtig Fahrt aufgenommen. Aber die Arbeit mit den Jungs vor allen Dingen hat gezeigt, worum es eigentlich bei genitaler Selbstbestimmung auch mit geht. Es geht um das Thema Selbstbestimmung, es geht um das Thema Gesundheit, und es geht vor allen Dingen um das Thema Verletzlichkeit. Wir haben das Thema seit Januar öfters bearbeitet in Gruppen, wir haben das bearbeitet mit jüngeren Menschen, wir haben das Thema bearbeitet mit größeren Menschen, und bei so ziemlich allen konnte man feststellen, wie sehr eigentlich dieses Thema Verletzlichkeit dahinter steckt. Wenn man plötzlich sich dann doch fragen muss: Weswegen wird mir eigentlich dieses Stückchen Haut geklaut, und zwar ohne mein Einverständnis, ohne mein Wissen und ohne meinen Willen?

Admittedly, the debate about genital self-determination really took off only at the beginning of this year. But working with the boys above all has shown what genital autonomy is all about. It's about self-determination, it's about health, and it's about all about vulnerability. We have worked on the subject in groups since January, we have worked on it with younger and more grown up people and with most of them you could see how much this subject is based on vulnerability. If you suddenly have to ask yourself: Why is this piece of skin stolen from me, withouy my consent, without my knowledge and without my will?

Die Selbstbestimmung des Menschen ist in diesem Staat, ist in diesem Grundgesetz eines der höchsten Güter. Artikel 1 des Grundgesetzes sagt: "Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar." Und Artikel 2 sagt, dass die körperliche Unversehrtheit und das Leben als schützenswertes Gut gleich an zweiter Stelle im Grundgesetz verankert ist. Und genau in diese Grundrechte greifen wir ein, wenn wir es zulassen, dass kurz nach der Geburt ein Beschneider einer religiösen Gemeinschaft oder eben auch später ohne medizinische Indikation ein Arzt einfach eine Beschneidung vornehmen darf. Und zwar einzig und allein mit dem Einverständnis der Eltern.

Self-determination of man is in this state, with this constitution, one of the most important goods. Article 1 of the Constitution says: "Human dignity is inviolable." And Article 2 says that physical integrity and life as an asset worth protecting are anchored in second place of the Constitution. And we intervene in these fundamental rights if we allow a circumciser from a religious community, to do circumcision shortly after birth or also later if a doctordoes it without medical indication. And only with the consent of the parents.

Es will uns einfach nicht einleuchten, dass wir so viel Wert legen auf die körperliche Unversehrtheit von Menschen und dann gleichzeitig bei den Schwächsten dieser Gesellschaft einen solchen Kompromiss eingehen. Und damit so viele Entscheidungen vorwegnehmen. Entscheidungen, die die Sexualität betreffen. Entscheidungen, die die Religion betreffen. Und Entscheidungen, die unter Umständen auch die persönliche Lebensführung betreffen. Was das für einen Einfluss hat, das können Betroffene viel besser beschreiben als wir.

Aber das, was wir sagen können, ist, dass wir dafür einstehen: für das Recht des männlichen Kindes auf jegliche genitale Selbstbestimmung und natürlich - in Solidarität - [für] das Recht der genitalen Selbstbestimmung für alle Menschen. Wir als Verein [[jungs e.V.]] stehen Seite an Seite mit allen feministischen und allen progressiven Bewegungen, die sich für Gleichberechtigung zwischen Mann und Frau, für Gleichbehandlung aller Lebensformen und natürlich auch für die genitale Selbstbestimmung einsetzen.

“ Dear initiators of the World Wide Day of Genital Autonomy. Dear colleagues, dear interested people. Welcome to our statement from jungs e.V. in Duisburg. My name is Sven Leimkühler, I am an employee in the "Office for boys" and, as the name suggests, I mainly work with boys.

As you can see, we are still in Corona modus. I am currently here in my home office and even so the concern of the World Wide Day of Genital Autonomy is so important that we would like to support this in our video statement.

In our institution we work with our projects for universal human rights and children's rights. In our opinion, this includes the right to genital autonomy.
