'''{{FULLPAGENAME}}''' is a shrub that thrives in the arid areas of the southwestern [[United States]] and northwestern Mexico. The scientific name of the Joboba is <i>Simmondsia chinensis</i>.
Its seeds provide oil that is extracted and collected. Native Americans extracted the oil from jojoba seeds to treat sores and wounds.
===Pronunciation===
Jojoba is originally a Spanish word. The "J" in Spanish is pronounced like the "H" in English. Therefore Jojoba is pronounced as though the "J"s were "H"s. Ho-ho-bah is about right.
