Dana Zzyym v. US State Department
Dana Alix Zzyym (b. 1958) is an intersex activist and former sailor who was the first military veteran in the United States to seek a non-binary gender U.S. passport, in the lawsuit Zzyym v. Pompeo.[1]
United States District Judge R. Brooke Jackson, an Obama appointee in Colorado, ruled that the State Department must issue an accurate passport for Dana Zzyym. The State Department is appealing the ruling to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.[2]
