Ali Ertan Toprak (born 1969 in Ankara, Turkey) is a German politician of Kurdish descent. He is the leading representative of the Kurdish community in Germany e.V. Toprak was Secretary General of the Alevite Community of Germany from 2006 to 2009 and Deputy Chairman from 2009 to 2012. After a long-standing membership in the GREENS, he joined the CDU in 2014. Toprak has been a journalist for a long time in important German print media such as taz, Die Welt, Die Zeit, Emma, Huffington Post, Cicero etc. as well as in television and radio broadcasts in appearance.[1]

He is the president of the BAGIV (Federal Association of Immigrant Associations in Germany) e.V., which is funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.

Mr. Toprak supports the campaign "Mein Körper - unversehrt und selbstbestimmt" (My body - intact and self-determined) and says:

Jedes Kind hat das Recht auf unversehrte Genitalien - ohne Ausnahme. Wenn Tabus dem Kinderschutz im Wege stehen, ist es unsere Pflicht, sie zu brechen.
Translation: "Every child has the right to intact genitalia - without exception. When taboos stand in the way of child protection, it is our duty to break them."
