Gocke Cansever

The late Gocke Cansever was a Turkish[1] medical psychologist working at the Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital[WP], Robert College, Istanbul,[2] who did the first study of the effects of circumcision on boys in the early 1960s.[3]
Cansever (1965) administered psychological tests to twelve 5-to-7-year-old Turkish boys before and after Islamic circumcision and reported the results in her landmark paper.
