[[Benjamin Lewis]] recalls the events surrounding the first known public protest against circumcision of children. Ben recalls his concerns for his brother [[Van Lewis]]'s safety and their subsequent arrest when they demonstrated outside a hospital in Tallahassee Florida.

This event marked the birth of the [[intactivist]] movement, coinciding with the social unrest and upheaval of the era, civil rights, women's and gay liberation, opposition to the Vietnam War, etc.
