Sliwinski et al. (2014) of the Department of Urology at the [https://www.unimelb.edu.au/ University of Melbourne] reported a case of Fournier's gangrene in a 24-year-old man who had an elective non-therapeutic circumcision for “prophylactic hygiene reasons”. There was extensive debridement of infected tissue, which resulted in deficit of skin which was resolved by the use of a pedicle flap from the anterior abdominal wall, after which the patient recovered.<ref>{{REFjournal
