Orchiectomy is a surgical operation to excise a teste (testicle). When both testes are removed, it is called a bilateral orchiectomy.[1]

Orchietomy stops the production of testosterone so it is sometimes performed to treat testicular cancer or prostate cancer. It usually causes a decrease in sexual desire.[1]
