Congratulations! You have been granted write access to an instance of the IntactiWiki (e.g. the English IntactiWiki that you are currently reading in).

Before you really create your first article like this, we strictly recommend to read the following chapters of this IntactiWiki manual to learn more about the techniques, methods, templates and conventions.

How to create an article

For creating your first article, you have to know some basics about the wiki system itself.

  • To create a new article, type its desired title into the search field and press [Return] to start the search. If the title of your article does not exist, the search result page will offer to create it from scratch. If your title is e.g. My first article, you will see the following line in the search result page:
Create the page "My first article" on this wiki!
Note the read colored article title. This always indicates that this article does not exist yet.
  • Click on this red article link. This opens its editor where you can enter and edit its content.

Note: If your article title is a term in plural, please reconsider if the singular term is sufficient and appropriate, e.g. don't entitle your article "Retainers" but "Retainer".

Use the Test page as your sandbox

  • It is also recommended to use the Test page for your trials.
  • And use the [Show preview] button as often as you like to before you click [Save page] in any article's editor. (Each save adds a new revision of an article to the database, so it is always a good idea to try and preview as long as possible before you really save your results.)
