Benjamin Bridges Lewis is a member of a prominent Tallahassee, Florida family and the brother of the late intactivist, Van Lewis.
Lewis participated with his brother, Van, in the first recorded American protest demonstration against non-therapeutic infant circumcision, which occurred in Tallahassee on 17 December 1970 in front of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
The two brothers were arrested for disturbing the peace, although the charges were later dropped.
