The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), despite its name, is not a governmental organization. It is a non-governmental organization created by President-elect Donald J. Trump to give advice on reducing the size and wastefulness of the executive branch of the United States government.[1]
DOGE will be lead by centibillionaire Elon Musk and the billionaire entreprenour Vivek Ramaswamy.[1]
DOGE is supposed to expire on 4 July 2026, which is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.[1]
DOGE House subcommittee
James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, announced the formation of a new GOP-controlled "Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE)" subcommittee, in the next Congress. Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia will be the chair person of the new subcommittee.[2] Greene said, "The goal of DOGE is to bring accountability and GUT useless government agencies."[3]
