Dr. Alexandre Rotta

Dr. Alexandre Rotta, MD, is a pediatric critical care specialist in Durham, North Carolina, and a children’s rights activist. A strong opponent of any and all forms of genital modification involving minors, Dr. Rotta is committed to raising awareness among health care professionals, parents, and the general public of the ethical, medical, and moral issues surrounding genital cutting of children.[1]

In 2012, Dr. Rotta left the American Academy of Pediatrics to protest their support of infant circumcision. He then spent five years as Case Western Reserve University’s Linsalata Endowed Chair in Pediatric Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care. He is member of the Board of Directors at Your Whole Baby.
