On 5 May 2019, the French organization [[Droit au Corps]] made a public appeal to the French Government to launch a public debate on the conditions for consent to [circumcision]. Their concern is that "circumcision" should in principle only be lawful if there is a legally valid consent of the person concerned. In addition, debates will be held on how to ensure that consent is really effective.
