National Secular Society
The National Secular Society (NSS) is a British non-governmental organisation that advocates separation of church and state. The NSS is the parent organisation of the Secular Medical Forum.

Opposition to genital cutting of children
The NSS published the opinion of Dr Antony Lempert who opposesd the genital cutting of children.[1]
The NSS has taken a position in opposition to non-therapeutic (ritual) circumcision of male children.[2]
Investigation of medical doctors
The CSS used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain information on the discipline of medical doctors by the General Medical Council (GMC). The GMC holds four disciplinary sessions a year. Over the last decade it has disciplined 39 doctors for ritual (non-therapeutic) circumcision issues. The Medical Protection Society warned circumcision carries "considerable risks and complications”.[3]
