Brothers Arrested for Historic Protest Against Circumcision

Benjamin Lewis recalls the events surrounding the first known public protest against circumcision of children. Ben recalls his concerns for his brother Van Lewis's safety and their subsequent arrest when they demonstrated outside a hospital in Tallahassee Florida.

This event marked the birth of the intactivist movement, coinciding with the social unrest and upheaval of the era, civil rights, women's and gay liberation, opposition to the Vietnam War, etc.
