Cervix is a word that refers to a neck, however when we use the word, it usually means the cervix uteri, or the neck of the uterus which connects to the vagina in the female reproductive tract.[1]

The cervix is the site of cervical cancer, which is the third most common female cancer, ranking after lung cancer and breast cancer.
