Benjamin Bridges Lewis is a member of a large and prominent Tallahassee, FL family and the brother of the late intactivist, Van Lewis.

Lewis participated with his brother Van in the first recorded American protest demonstration against non-therapeutic infant circumcision, which occurred in Tallahassee on 17 December 1970 in front of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
