The late Dr. James E. Peron, M.S.[a 1], D.Ed.[a 2], (18 October 1932 in Sagamore, PA, USA – 29 July 2017 in Kirkwood, PA, USA) was a medical research writer, educator lecturer, and Human rights pioneer. In 1970, he founded the Childbirth Education Foundation (located in Oxford, PA).
James Peron was one of the first in America to speak publicly against circumcision of infants and children. For 47 years Dr. Peron taught the benefits of protecting genital integrity. In an interview (see below) Dr. Peron discussed the personal tragedy that started his intactivism and acknowledges others who began the movement to protect children's rights.
