Child Genital Cutting (CGC) is a collective term for female genital mutilation/cutting, male genital mutilation/cutting, and intersex gender-norming surgery.

The term “child genital cutting” refers to involuntary surgery undertaken to modify the genitalia of a child by any adult from birth to age 18. This term is used to avoid euphemisms like “circumcision", vague terms like “procedure”, and inflammatory terms like “mutilation”.

It is the term most preferred by Intact America.
