Revision as of 23:49, 8 December 2019
This video is outmoded and does not provide current information on the care of intact boys. Parents may injure a child if they follow the recommendations of this video.
Thorvaldsen & Meyhoff (2005) conducted a survey of 4,000 boys in Denmark. They report that the mean age of first foreskin retraction is 10.4 years in Denmark.[1]
The foreskin is fused with the glans penis in childhood and cannot be retracted as advised in this video. No attempt to retract the foreskin should be made. Wright (1994) advises that the first person to retract the boy’s foreskin should be the boy himself.[2]
