Dear Max: Contemplating Circumcision is a short animated video in which Alex Kahn takes an ambivalent look at the Jewish practice of Brit Milah, (non-therapeutic ritual circumcision) as required by the so-called Abrahamic covenant. This video is one of the New Yorker documentary series.
For Kahn, Jewish tradition triumphed over the physical, sexual, and emotional well-being of Max, his son.
