Ilene A. Gelbaum, CNM, (born 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, USA) is a retired advanced practice certified nurse-midwife and a promoter of male infant circumcision from Anaheim, CA. She advocates performance of non-therapeutic circumcision of infant boys by advanced practice certified nurse-midwives.[1]
Gelbaum is associated with Kaiser Permanente.[2]
Gelbaum also practices as a mohelet or female mohel.[3][4]
She apparently believed that she was doing good work as she stated, "it really is a touching, moving, spine-tingling thing that I participate in as a service to the community."[5]
