Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr., B.A., J.D., M. Laws, (born 17 January 1954 in Washington, D.C., USA) is a scion of the very wealthy and prominent Kennedy political family of Massachusetts. Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr. is also known as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Bobby Kennedy, Jr., and RFK, Jr. His uncle was the late President John F. Kennedy and his father was Robert F. Kennedy who served as Attorney-General of the United States.
The Kennedy family has historically been associated with the Democrat Party, but RFK, Jr. resigned from the Democrat Party in 2023, became an independent, and then supported Donald Trump for President.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has appointed Robert Francis Kennedy, Jr. to be the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. If his appointment is ratified by the Senate, he would take office on 20 January 2025. He has proposed far reaching changes in American health care with a goal of improving the health of Americans. "RFK Jr. announced that the Trump administration would immediately fire and replace 600 National Institutes of Health officials."[2]
