Solicitation for foreskin amputation
The website of Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital provides extensive promotional information on circumcision of infants but does not mention exsanguination, injury to vital organs, or death as a possible outcome. No information is offered regarding the nature of the foreskin, the loss of protective, immunological, sexual, and sensory functions, or the possible later psychological issues.

Cole's injuries
Cole was in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) at the time that the hospital solicited a consent for circumcision. If a circumcision is to be performed, the infant boy should be "stable and healthy". A boy in intensive care is unlikely to be stable and healthy. Bollinger (2025) has questioned the safety of the practice of circumcising boys in the NICU.<ref>{{REFdocument

Cole's loss of blood caused by his harmful, unnecessary circumcision caused substantial organ injury. Part of his intestines died and had to be removed by an abdominal operation. He has been fitted with a colostomy bag.
He will need additional surgery later to reconnect the residual surviving parts of his intestines.
There also is concern about liver damage, kidney damage, and brain damage from the exsanguination.<ref>{{REFweb

The Greater Long Island News reports on 6 June 2025 that Cole's heart is failing and he may now need a heart transplant.<ref>{{REFnews
