Legal advocacy

Legal advocacy is how we ensure the research, education, and awareness work we do is lasting. Our legal advocacy work helps to make explicit that 2SLGBTQI experiences are reflected in policy at all levels of government and beyond.

Egale, represented by Christopher Russo, filed a suit or application in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against the attorney-general of Canada on 15 June 2021 to extend Charter and human rights to protect intersex persons. The court file number is CV-21-000867SO.000.[2]
