[[Traumatic neuroma]] is a [[complication]] of [[circumcision]]. Circumcision severs nerves which attempt to regenerate themserves but are only able to form a painful neuroma at the [[circumcision scar]].<ref name="cold-taylor1999">{{ColdCJ TaylorJR 1999}}</ref>

Cardoso et al. (2015) reported the case of a 22-year-old man who had been circumcised at the age of eight. Excision of the neuroma was performed.<ref>{{REFjournal
