Galukande et al. (2014) reported two cases of previously rare Fournier's gangrene at the Infectious Disease Institute and International Hospital Kampala (IHK). The cases eventually recovered with aggressive treatment. The increase in the incidence of Fournier's gangrene is attributed to non-therapeutic Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) sponsored by the United States of America.<ref>{{REFjournal

(2014) reported the case of Fournier's gangrene in a 24-year-old man who had an elective non-therapeutic circumcision for “prophylactic hygiene reasons”. There was extensive debridement of infected tissue, which resulted in deficit of skin which was resolved by the use of a pedicle flap from the anterior abdominal wall, after which the patient recovered.<ref>{{REFjournal |last=Sliwinski
