He was born in 2011. I think he was roughly 6 lbs. Healthy boy, head of hair, a bundle of joy. It was a smooth birth and they were home within 3 days. He had blue eyes that would light up any room, and skin as delicate as porcelain.
My friend [his mother, name withheld for privacy] was American, her husband [name also withheld] Canadian and Jewish.
She never put much thought into circumcision, she thought it was the norm and assumed that her husband would want it with him being Jewish (she was unaware at the time he was indifferent on the issue and was taking her lead), he was born in either July or late late June. Sadly the exact date has slipped my memory over the years.
At just a few weeks old they booked him in for an infant circumcision. They were told it would be a quick and simple procedure. That he would feel no pain and likely sleep through it.. That he would be back in their arms before they knew it.
Time dragged on, and it was taking longer than usual, then they were asked if they could step into a room to speak with the staff.
Braydon was suffering from hemorrhage, turns out he had hemophilia they were unaware of. It was decided to transport him to the hospital as they couldn't get it under control. He was white, he was pale.
It's hard to write the next part and I've got tears in my eyes as a type this..
Braydon did not survive. He passed due to hemorrhage, caused by his circumcision, his young life gone far too soon.
Had he not been circumcised he highly likely would still be here with us today.
The part that will always keep.me.up at night though.. Realizing it was only done because mom thought it was the norm everywhere in the world.
They have since been blessed with 2 more children, twin boys, and they are the way nature made them. Both their twin sons also have hemophilia, but both are happy and incredibly healthy 6 year old boys the hemophilia aside.

== Oliver ==
Aimee & her husband and daughter had two happy days with newborn Oliver in June 2019, before he was circumcised in a Connecticut hospital.
