Dr. Cammy Benton, M.D.[a 1], ABIHM[a 2], IFMCP[a 3], intactivist, completed medical school at East Carolina University and family medicine residency at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She worked with a group practice in North Carolina for ten years prior to opening her own integrative medicine clinic, Benton Integrative Medical Center, in Huntersville, NC. Her practice combines functional medicine and herbal medicine in a holistic fashion.

Dr. Benton is a founding board member of the California-based Physicians for Informed Consent. The principle of informed consent is a cornerstone of her practice. To obtain true informed consent, providers must fully disclose the risks and benefits of medical procedures. She believes informed consent is not being obtained for infant circumcision, because parents with adequate information would not choose it. Dr. Benton works as part of the movement to protect children in the current medical climate.[1]

Dr. Benton is member of the Advisory Board of Your Whole Baby.
