Professor Ronald L. Poland, M.D.[a 1], a neonatalogist, served on the 1989 Circumcision Task Force of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which was chaired by Edgar J. Schoen. Professor Poland disagreed with the conclusions of the task force and later published a dissent in the New England Journal of Medicine.
