Gary Shteyngart

Gary Shteyngart, MFA, (born 5 May 1972 in Leningrad, Soviet Union), is a Soviet-born Jewish novelist and journalist, who migrated to the United States when seven-years-old.

He teaches writing at Columbia University.

He received an unnecessary ritual circumcision, after which a serious, painful complication developed.
