Posthectomy is the medical name for amputation of the foreskin.[1] It is more commonly known by the Biblical euphemism of "circumcision", which conceals the full extent of the harm, injury, and loss of physiological function of the foreskin by its irreversible amputation.

Posthectomy is a form of male genital mutilation (MGM).
