Posthectomy

Posthectomy is the medical name for amputation of the foreskin. It is more commonly known by the Biblical euphemism of "circumcision", which conceals the full extent of the harm, injury, and loss of physiological function of the foreskin by its irreversible amputation.

Posthectomy is a form of male genital mutilation (MGM).

Posthectomy is frequently carried out on American infant boys who cannot receive general anesthesia because of their age, so they suffer extreme pain and sometimes go into shock.
