Professor Mohamed A Baky Fahmy, MD, FRCS, is an Egyptian paediatric surgeon, author, and medical editor.

He is Emirates professor of paediatric surgery, Al Azhar University, Egypt. He graduated from Al Azhar University and Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and trained in the field of paediatric surgery at Egypt and Manchester, UK.

He is the founder and chief of the paediatric surgery departments at El Galae Hospital and Al Zahrae University Hospital, Cairo.

He had a wide experience for more than 36 years with a special interest in paediatric urology, rare genitourinary anomalies, pediatric gynaecology. He is member of the Association of Paediatric Surgeons since 1994 and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Global Rare Disease Registry (GRDR), and the American Association of Academic Surgery.

He was Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Pediatric Diseases, and now he is co-editor for many international journals, and had a wide range of international publications, and he is an innovator of operations and procedures in paediatric surgery and paediatric urology.

Prof Fahmy dedicated his scientific activities to rare diseases affecting newborn and children, specially the genitourinary anomalies; how to detect and to how manage.

He is the author of a recently published 3 Illustrative textbooks: Rare Congenital Genitourinary Anomalies, Congenital anomalies of the penis and Umbilicus and umbilical cord, which were published by Springer, and another textbook on Complications in Male Circumcision.
