The brit milah (Hebrew: בְּרִית מִילָה; Ashkenazi pronunciation: bʁis ˈmilə, "covenant of circumcision"; Yiddish pronunciation: bris (bʀɪs)) is a Jewish religious male circumcision ceremony performed by a mohel on the eighth day of a male infant's life.
