Dr. Oz is the name of the television show of Mehmet Cengiz Öz, M.D.[a 1], (born 11 June 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA) who is an American born descendant of Turkish Muslim immigrants. Oz is a dual citizen of Turkey and the United States. He has served in the Turkish army and maintains a strong identification with Turkey and its culture.
Dr. Öz claims to be a "secular Muslim". Dr. Öz evidently is a circumcised man as that is the standard practice among Turkish Muslims.
Öz is a retired physician and surgeon, who has become a television personality with his own TV show.
Views on circumcision
Dr. Öz is a circumcised doctor and appears have a strong bias in favor of circumcision. He incorrectly states that children do not remember the pain of circumcision.[1]
