For me, queer means one thing above all: self-determination. For me, queer means sexual, bodily and social self-determination. Unfortunately, we are still a long way from that. Still the individual rights of self-determination guaranteed by general human rights, the Constitution and the Child Protection Charter get quashed by collective rights - the law of the strongest - regardless of the actual person. For me, queer means self-determination. And so the struggle for the right to genital self-determination is a deeply queer concern for all children. Holger Edmaier (born 11 May 1972 in Bremen, Germany) is a German music cabaret artist, composer, lyricist, and moderator. [...]

Since 2014, Edmaier leads the Project 100% HUMAN, which is committed to the full equality and acceptance of sexual orientation and gender equality. The non-profit organization publishes a campaign song every year, composed by Edmaier and sung by various artists.

In 2019 Holger Edmaier spoke at the panel discussion organized by TERRE DES FEMMES together with MOGiS e.V. and the Projekt 100% MENSCH in the Ibn-Rushd-Mosque in Berlin about the campaign "Mein Körper - unversehrt und selbstbestimmt" (My Body - Undamaged and Self-determined).[1]

In 2020 he spoke in a video message on WWDOGA:

I often get asked: What does queer actually mean? For me, queer means above all questioning norms, conventions, rituals and traditions. Every child deserves the same protection - regardless of gender and genital!
