Celsus is credited with writing a very complete encyclopedia with numerous sections, however only the section on medical practice, entitled ''De Medicina'' survives. ''De Medicina'' has been was translated into English by James Greive, M.D., in 1756.
''De Medicina'' is divided into eight books, which are further divided into numerous chapters. Chapter XXV of Book Seven provides instructions for the surgical recovering of the [[glans penis]] of a [[circumcised]] man.
