Aulus Cornelius Celsus, Encyclopaedist

Aulus Cornelius Celsus (Born about 25 BC; Died about 50 AD) was a Roman encyclopedist.

Celsus is credited with writing a very complete encyclopedia with numerous sections, however only the section on medical practice, entitled De Medicina survives. De Medicina was translated into English by James Greive, M.D., in 1756.

De Medicina is divided into eight books, which are further divided into numerous chapters.

Chapter XXV of Book Seven provides instructions for the surgical recovering of the glans penis of a circumcised man.
