Retainers are devices used as part of the foreskin restoration process, to hold the skin over the glans without applying strong tension. They can be used in early stages of restoration to loosen the skin and grow some skin. After a certain point, they don't provide enough tension to grow more skin, but can be used while not actively restoring in order to keep the glans covered, to facilitate the process of dekeratinization.
A retainer can be made from a milk bottle nipple, from two milk bottle nipples, or can be purchased, such as the YourSkin cones or the DTR retainer. Retainers can also be used with "packers", weights or inflation, to add some tension.
