Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, (born 3 March 1965 in Asmara, Eritrea (formerly Ethiopia)[1]), Ph.D.[a 1], M.S.[a 2], BSc[a 3],[1] is an Ethiopian public health official who has been the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2017.

Early life

In 1986, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Asmara.[1] In 1986, after his first degree, he joined the Ethiopian Ministry of Health as a junior public health expert.

He studied at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and was awarded a Master of Science degree in immunology of infectious diseases from the University of London in 1992.[1]

Public health work

Tedros sought additional education. He attended the University of Nottingham where in 2000 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in public health.[1] He then returned to Ethiopia. In 2001, Tedros was appointed head of the Tigray Region Health Bureau.[2] In 2003, he was elevated to Deputy Minister for Health. Then in 2005 he was appointed to be Minister for Health.[3] He was then selected to be Minister for Foreign Affairs.[4]

Director-General of the World Health Organization

Tedros was elected Director-General of the World Health Organization in April 2017.[4] Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. identifies Tedros as Bill Gates' "hand-picked" deputy, his chief qualification being his "loyalty" to Bill Gates.[5]

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation contributes very large sums of money to the WHO.[6] These large sums of money allow Bill Gates to have effective control over the WHO where he reportedly is treated as a "head-of-state."[7]

Polio vaccine scandal

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI).[8] Oral polio vaccine with live polio virus was supplied by the World Health Organization,[9] which can cause infection with polio virus.[10] Outbreaks of polio have been reported in Afghanistan, Chad, Ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan and Sudan.[9]

It is not clear if Bill Gates's influence caused the WHO to adopt a vaccine with live virus in it.

Male circumcision

The WHO has maintained a difficult, erroneous, and unsatisfactory position on male circumcision (MC) to prevent female to male HIV infection at least since 2007. The Lancet published reports of two African RCTs in February 2007 and the WHO immediately convened a conference at Montreux, Switzerland on 6–8 March 2007 to consider the reports. In a rush to judgment, the meeting prepared detailed recommendations for the adoption of male circumcision as prophylaxis against HIV infection. The recommendations became official policy on 28 March 2007.[11] There now is strong evidence that the RCTs are deeply flawed, erroneous, and perhaps even fraudulent.[12]

The WHO has promoted male circumcision, mainly in Africa for 14 years, during which time tens of millions of African males have suffered circumcision, a form of male genital mutilation.

This circumcision policy originated before Tedros became Director-General, however he has now had nearly five years to reform it, but has not done so. It may be because of the very large contributions from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the fear of offending Bill Gates, which are both advocates of circumcision.

It may also be due to the influence of David R. Tomlinson who has invented several circumcision devices, including the AccuCirc, which he merchandises. Tomlinson is the WHO adviser on circumcision, so he is unlikely to recommend against circumcision due to his apparent conflict-of interest.

The bias toward male circumcision may also come from the Guideline Development Group, which is a large committee charged with the task of recommending "new guidelines on male circumcision". A survey of the committee revealed that it is overwhelmingly peopled with circumcision-biased individuals.

Large population-based surveys show that male circumcision has little or no effect on preventing HIV infection:

  1. Mayan et al. (2021) carried out a massive empirical study of the male population of the province of Ontario, Canada (569,950 males), of whom 203,588 (35.7%) were circumcised between 1991 and 2017. The study concluded that circumcision status is not related to risk of HIV infection.[13]
  2. Morten Frisch and Jacob Simonsen (2021) carried out a large scale empirical population study in Denmark of 855,654 males regarding the alleged value of male circumcision in preventing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in men. They found that circumcised men have a higher rate of STI and HIV infection overall than intact men.[14]

Whatever the influences may be, Tedros has done nothing in his nearly five-years in office to reform the mess that he inherited when he took office, so the genital mutilation (MGM) of boys and men by circumcision continues.

Charges of international crimes

LifeSite and other websites are reporting that Tedros, Bill Gates. and others have been charged in the International Criminal Court with crime against humanity, genocide, and other crimes.[15]

Personal life

Tedros is married to Kidist. They have five children.[16]
