Dr. Ernest G. Mark, M.D.[a 1][1].
In 1901, Mark noted that the "pleasurable sensations that are elicited from the extremely sensitive" inner lining of the foreskin may encourage a child to masturbate which is why he recommends circumcision since it "lessens the sensitiveness of the organ".[2]
“ | Another advantage of circumcision … is the lessened liability to masturbation … as a rule, pleasurable sensations are elicited from the extremely sensitive mucous membrane [the inner mucosa of the foreskin] with resultant manipulation and masturbation. The exposure of the glans penis following circumcision … lessens the sensitiveness of the organ. – Ernest G. Mark[3] |
