George Hill

George Hill (born 1 June 1937 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA)

Hill early became aware of the function and value of the foreskin. When his son was born at the infamous Northside Hospital in February 1979, Hill refused to permit a circumcision, citing the position of the AAP on lack of medical indication,[1] resulting in the displeasure of an OB-GYN who came early to the hospital hoping to collect a fee.

Hill attended the Second International Symposium at San Francisco in 1991 where he met many intactivists, including Ashley Montagu and Marilyn Milos.

Hill is the Vice-President for Medical Science and Bioethics of Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C.), and its prolific scribe. George joined DOC in 1997 and swiftly became a highly productive advocate. He has to his credit several published articles and letter-briefs questioning circumcision. He has kept up a lively correspondence with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, and state Medicaid agencies nationwide. He was the author of the original Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C.) Genital Integrity Policy Statement,[2] the framework for the new D.O.C. website.[3]
