George Hill

George Hill (born 1 June 1937 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA)

Hill early became aware of the function and value of the foreskin. When his son was born at the later infamous Northside Hospital in February 1979, Hill refused to permit a circumcision, citing the position of the AAP on lack of medical indication,[1] and resulting resulting in the displeasure of an OB-GYN who came early to the hospital hoping to collect a fee.

Hill attended the Second International Symposium at San Francisco in 1991 where he met many intactivists, including Ashley Montagu, Paul M. Fleiss, and Marilyn Milos.

Circumcision Information and Reference Pages

American intactivists held a meeting at Evanston, Illinois that was timed to coincide with the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatrics in nearby Chicago. The intent was to demonstrate at the AAP meeting. Hill attended that meeting where he met many intactivists, including Geoffrey T. Falk, who at that time was a graduate student from Canada. Falk had some knowledge of the creation of websites and wanted to create a website to provide information online about circumcision on the then new Internet. Hill was a reasonably good typist and could transcribe material into text files. A synergistic new partnership soon emerged that resulted in the creation of the Circumcision Information and Reference Pages (CIRP). Hill prepared many files for inclusion on the CIRP website from 1996 until 2013.

Doctors Opposing Circumcision

Hill is the Vice-President for Medical Science and Bioethics of Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C.), and its prolific scribe. George joined DOC in 1997 and swiftly became a highly productive advocate. He has to his credit several published articles and letter-briefs questioning circumcision. He has kept up a lively correspondence with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the CDC, and state Medicaid agencies nationwide. He was the author of the original Doctors Opposing Circumcision (D.O.C.) Genital Integrity Policy Statement,[2] the framework for the new D.O.C. website.[3]

Hill attended the Fifth International Symposium at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England on 5-7 August 1998.

Hill attended the Thirteenth International Symposium on Genital Autonomy and Children's Rights in Boulder, Colorada on on July 24-26, 2014.

Award for intactivism

Hill was chosen "Intactivist of the Month" by Intact America.
